Pinoy Komik fans rejoice! One of the most anticipated local convention is just around the corner.

Come Apr 12 2014, the sixth Summer Komikon will take place at the Bayanihan Center, Unilab Compound in Pasig City.
For starters, Komikon promotes local artists in showcasing their works with Pinoy pride. I'm sure that there will be a lot of aspiring artists present in the event and it will be interesting to see their contributions to the local comic industry.

Of course, Komikon won't be Komikon if not for some of the big guns' presence.

First up will be Leinil Francis Yu, one of my favorite artists. He worked on Batman before from DC Comics, and is also a regular at Marvel. I'm thinking of bringing my Superior and Super Crooks comic books and have them signed.

Arnold Arre also returns with a new book Rodski Patoski: Ang Dalagang Baby. This is in collaboration with the maestro Gerry Alanguilan, who took up the writing duties. Not much has been said about this as they want it to be as mum as possible til Komikon hits so we'll have to wait til the 12th and be surprised.

Third special guest will be Macoy Tang. His indie comic, Ang Maskot, was adapted into a short film which will be shown at Komikon as well. This will be interesting to watch.

Here's the full poster for Summer Komikon 2014:
There will be a lot of cool things to watch out for. I'm particularly excited for Manix Abrera's Kikomachine Komix Blg. 10 which will be launched at the event. Komikon's very own anthology, Sulyap 2, will be available as wll.

Check out the scheduled activities here:
Gates will be opened at 10AM and ticket will be sold for p100. As per before, early birds gets the worm. Freebies awaits so be sure to come early. Tickets are being pre-sold at Comic Odyssey branches right now.
